AMSU Hosts the UN 67th Commission on the Status of Women Teen Orientation

On Sunday, March 5th, AMSU hosted the Teen Orientation for the 67th session for the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW). It was the first time AMSU has ever hosted such an event for the CSW. AMSU was joined by students from our sister schools, the Ursuline Academy in Wilmington, The Ursuline School in New Rochelle, and the Saint Ursula Academy in Cincinnati, as well as, speakers from NGOs like UN Women, the Working Group on Girls, among others.

Students discussed and advocated for important issues affecting the empowerment of women and girls around the world. In conjunction with the UN Commission on the Status of Women theme, students focused on gender equality in technology and innovation. Lopa Banerjee, Executive Coordinator of the Generation Equality Forum and Director of the Civil Society Division at UN-Women, delivered a keynote address and students worked together in valuable advocacy workshops.
